Damage claims — what if something breaks?
Photos, deadlines, and how we mediate.
Host files a claim
The host has 72 hours after confirmed return to file a damage claim. They must upload evidence: photos of the damage, a repair quote if available, and a brief explanation.
You're notified immediately. Reply within 7 days — otherwise we grant the claim.
You respond
You can:
- Accept — the damage cost is deducted from your deposit.
- Dispute — open a dispute with your own evidence (pickup photos, witness statement, your own repair invoice).
We mediate
For a dispute we review both sides' evidence and make a binding decision. We look at:
- Whether pickup photos exist
- Whether the damage fits the explanation
- Whether the host's valuation is reasonable (no profit motive)
Tip up front
Always take photos at pickup AND return. With good evidence, a dispute is resolved in hours.
