Campplek

Why do you ask for my BSN?

Only for hosts above the DAC7 threshold.

Short version

We ask for your BSN (Dutch citizen ID) only if you're a host AND exceed the DAC7 thresholds: €2,000 or 30 transactions in a calendar year.

We don't share the BSN with third parties — only with the Dutch tax authority in a legally required annual report.

What is DAC7?

EU Directive 2021/514 — since 2023, online platforms like Campplek must annually report data on sellers/landlords exceeding the threshold. This includes: name, address, BSN (or foreign tax ID), total amounts, IBAN.

The tax authority cross-references this with your declaration. Failure to report is a €870,000 fine per breach — hence our strictness.

When do you ask?

  • Only when you're near the threshold — not at signup.
  • Via a secure form in Settings → Tax (only you see your BSN).
  • BSN is stored encrypted at rest — only authorized admins can decrypt during audit, and each access is logged.

Can I refuse?

Yes, but then we pause your payouts once you cross the threshold. We must comply with reporting obligations — otherwise Campplek won't exist a year from now.

Outside the Netherlands?

Provide your foreign tax ID (NIE in Spain, Steueridentifikationsnummer in Germany, etc).
